Multiple-account search helps when you remember the subject but not the destination inbox. A purchase receipt might be in personal Gmail, while a contract revision is in a work account.

Privacy: what happens to connected Google data?

OpenAI’s updated Google app data-controls FAQ says ChatGPT accesses information needed for supported requests, subject to your Google permissions and workspace settings. An ordinary app connection does not automatically create a personal synchronized index.

OpenAI also says it does not train its generalized models on data accessed directly from connected Google apps, except in specified situations such as when:

ChatGPT searches the wrong inbox

Specify the account in your request. If the wrong Google identity was authorized, review Connected accounts, disconnect that connection, and sign in again with the intended account.

Google blocks the authorization

A managed organization may need to approve the ChatGPT/OpenAI application or requested OAuth scopes. Contact the Google Workspace administrator and provide the exact error.

One account reconnects but the other does not

OpenAI says reconnecting one account does not automatically update every other account connected to the same app. Review and reconnect each affected account separately.

Is connecting multiple Google accounts worth it?
